Everyday Occasion is an event management service owned by me, Adrianne Gilbreath. I am a wife and mother of a sweet, sassy, toddler. I work full time as a school counselor and plan expert events in my free time.
In 2017 when I gave birth to my baby girl, my mother flew to Dallas to be with our family for two months, cooking, cleaning, and helping the family adjust to this new human being in our home. Without her, I'm not sure I would have ever made it. It was one of the toughest transitions of my life, but my mom took several things off my plate to allow for me to rest and bond with my baby.
After hearing about #takeitoffmyplate from one of my college friends in my beloved hometown of Chicago, I reached out to Zuri Thompson, founder of The Doula Part and the #takeitoffmyplate initiative, to implement this service in the Fort Worth, TX area. I know what it's like to be overworked, exhausted, Black, and a woman. I am hoping that with the help of my village, we can take dinner plans off the plate of many Black moms who just simply need a break. Join us as we serve Black mamas all over the Fort Worth metroplex one plate at a time.
